Automotive Repair Tulsa- Are you someone who worries about strange noises occurring in your car or engine? Abbott Automotive Repair of Tulsa has some helpful hints to share about the strange noises you’re hearing that are coming from your vehicle.
If your car starts to make a strange noise, there’s nothing to be too concerned about but it’s probably best to get your car serviced. Getting your car serviced can fix the issue and sometimes discover some unknown issues happening inside the engine as well. By listening to your car, the different noises will indicate the trigger of the problem (most likely).
High Pitch Noises
One noise you could be experiencing is high pitch noises. Sometimes you’ll experience this noise when your brakes are wet and screech at a high pitch level when you’re coming to a halt. That is normal in most cases. If you’re noticing your car being a bit ‘jerky’ in motion when you’re turning your wheel, it will indicate that your power-steering needs tightened or replaced. It could also mean that the power steering fluid is low and needs to be replenished. Some other indicators for the high pitch noises could be the alternator, air conditioner, compressor or water pump difficulties.
Whistle or Hiss
Is your car hissing or whistling at you? This occurs when your engine is running and you hear a whistling or hissing sound coming from your engine. What causes this noise? It could be a broken or missing vacuum hose that causes the noise, while causing the engine to shake and not work properly. This noise could decrease the performance, while increasing fuel consumption.
Your vehicle will tend to tap, click or clatter at some point. A light noise such as clicking will indicate your engine hasn’t been used and needs some love of oil to lubricate the engine. The noise is caused by the valve lifters. The lifters will need to be refilled with oil when starting the engine back up. Tip: if the noise continues you may need the filter changed.
Rattling or Roaring
If your vehicle is rattling, it means that your engine is experiencing abnormal combustion that could cause serious damage if not getting your car serviced right away. If it’s put off, your key engine parts could overheat. If you’re experiencing a roaring sound, that noise could be sparked from a leak by the muffler or exhaust pipes. You’ll hear this when the engine accelerates. It could be dangerous because leaks could consist of poisonous carbon monoxide to drift into the air or the vehicle.
Every car will at some point need a service done to it due from a noise or abnormal mechanism. You don’t want to wait too long because anything serious happens to your vehicle.
